The Big Relax Series

9 Week Series

Relax. Restore. Replenish

Having a weekly yoga practice can be incredibly nourishing, build strength, replenish your energy levels and set the tone for your whole week.

The BIG Relax Series offers a different theme and focus each class and combines gentle Yoga poses, Breath and Restorative poses to unravel stress, cultivate healing and regulate the nervous system.

Classes incorporate Slow Gentle Yoga poses, Hanna Somatics, Breath Awareness, Fluid Movement and Restorative poses to unravel stress and cultivate healing.

Through this type of practice, the body is invited to melt away tension, holding, stress and pain that may be stored in the body. And the nervous system is given an opportunity to re-calibrate and reset so that you can feel nourished, rejuvenated and energised.

It is very much self-paced and can be adapted to support injuries or conditions you may be navigating.

Calligraphy Yoga Series

9 Week Series

Whole Body Wellness, Organ by Organ

Based on teachings from Master Zhen Hua Yang, this unique yoga series combines breath, mind, and fluid movement to support and restore balance in the body, improve organ function, enhance blood circulation and instill calmness. Just like an artist writing calligraphy, this ancient practice is "continuous, gentle, yet strong and full
of energy" – Master Yang.

During this course, each week will be dedicated to a specific organ or organs, embodying the ancient wisdom and beauty of Calligraphy Yoga (a combination of tai chi, qi gong and martial arts) Hatha Yoga, and Hanna Somatics.
We will enhance, optimise and enliven the health, function and happiness of our organs.

Weekly Focus, Expectations and Benefits:

Inspired by Pathways to a Centred Body by Donna Farhi and Leila Stuart, this 9-week series—creatively adapted by Jackie—offers a deep dive into the psoas muscle, your body’s primary core connector. Often referred to as the “fear muscle,” the psoas sits deep within the body, linking spine to legs and back body to front. It plays a vital role in posture, movement and emotional regulation and its condition often reflects the state of your nervous system.

Through slow, gentle and highly effective yoga practices, you’ll explore what your psoas truly needs to function optimally. Each week, we’ll move through the full protocol while focusing in depth on one segment to build a thorough understanding of how to support this essential muscle. By the end of the series, you’ll be able to identify which parts of the protocol best serve your body and nervous system.

The Big Relax

Nourish & Rejuvenate

The BIG Relax is a yoga class which have been lovingly crafted for those seeking to move their body in a gentle way, to release tension and to relax the nervous system. This deeply nurturing class is the perfect remedy for our busy lifestyle and a wonderful way to spend some time on your weekend or holiday to treat yourself to some precious 'ME' time.

Classes incorporate Slow Gentle Yoga poses, Hanna Somatics, Breath Awareness, Fluid Movement and Restorative poses to unravel stress and cultivate healing.

Through this type of practice, the body is invited to melt away tension, holding, stress and pain that may be stored in the body. And the nervous system is given an opportunity to recalibrate and reset so that you can feel nourished, rejuvenated and energised.

It is very much self-paced and can be adapted to support injuries or conditions you may be navigating.

TIME & LOCATION: The BIG Relax yoga class is 135 mins long and is held at Brunswick Valley Community Centre monthly on a Saturday afternoon and occasional public holidays. Directions and details of the class will be emailed to you upon registering for the class.


PRICING & BOOKING: This class is AUD$35 for casual attendance or you check out the Membership options which includes attending monthly Big Relax classes. You can book online and pay with credit card and direct transfer. (Cash by prior arrangement with Jackie)

HOW TO PAY & BOOK:

Spread out over an afternoon, you'll be guided through a unique and well crafted movement practices that supports you to cultivate an intimate relationship with your body and the aliveness that is continually flowing through it.

Afternoon Dance Class

Join Courtney and Jackie as we weave together a unique movement and dance practice that supports women to cultivate an intimate relationship with your body and the aliveness that is continually flowing through it, via movement and dance practices.

Over an afternoon together we will move through a warm-up, playful group exercises, free dancing and a nourishing relaxation to conclude and allow for integration.

No previous dance experience or sexy lingerie is required. Simply come as you are.

NOTE:

  • This is a safe container for all authentic expression.
  • We won’t be bouncing around the room for three solid hours - there will be lots of little breaks.
  • Pre-bookings are essential.

YOUR FACILITATORS

After joining retreats and regular workshops led by Sensual Embodied Dance (TM) Founder, Holly Wodetzki, for over 8 years, Courtney and Jackie both felt inspired to complete the SED Facilitator Training with Holly, SED Founder. They have collaborated to share the joy of dance and offer these unique practices with women in the Gold Coast and Byron area.

JACKIE

Jackie found her first SED experience to be a complete melting pot of acceptance, understanding and connection that she had not experienced before. So touched by this potent experience, Jackie now shares the same potential for women to explore themselves unfiltered, raw, messy, truthful and utterly beautiful. Jackie's particular flavour is slow, sensual and grounded, offering an invitation for your own unique essence and sensuality to flow through movement.

COURTNEY
Courtney was initially drawn to SED with a yearning to get out of her head after corporate burnout and back to her roots (she studied dance in her youth). Since then, this unique, powerful methodology has consistently helped her come back “home” to her joyful self and reset her nervous system, especially during the transition from Maiden to Mother. Courtney’s playful nature is contagious and she deeply desires to support women by expressing themselves authentically through both movement and stillness, so they may dance through everyday life with more presence and pleasure.
